Courtney Pieters: Suspect pleads guilty to murder, admits to necrophilia
The State, though, has refused to accept Mortimer Saunders' admissions.
CAPE TOWN - Mortimer Saunders has pleaded guilty to murdering 3-year-old Courtney Pieters but insists it wasn't premeditated.
He's also admitted to necrophilia but denies he raped the girl before killing her.
Mortimer also confessed to poisoning the child.
The State, though, has refused to accept his admissions.
Pieters' body was found near her home last year after she been missing for several days.
Saunders, who rented a room at the family's Elsies River home, was then taken into custody.
His trial has started in the Western Cape High Court.
