JOHANNESBURG - The case of a man accused of murder at the Glebelands Hostel has been remanded to next Tuesday (29 May).

Siyabonga Faku also faces charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

This case will be heard at the Umlazi Magistrate's Court separately on 28 June.

It’s understood Faku was at the local tavern at the Glebelands Hostel in March 2018 when he stabbed another man in the throat. The incident comes in light of the numerous murders which have taken place at the infamous hostel.

The police’s Thembeka Mbhele said: “The victim sustained an injury to his throat and was taken to a hospital where he later died. The matter has been remanded to 29 May and suspect will remain in custody.”
