ANC retains wards in Gauteng, North West in municipal by-elections

The ruling party has welcomed the results, saying that the people of Johannesburg are ready to reclaim the city.

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) has retained two wards in Gauteng and the North West in the municipal by-elections.

The ANC has won Ward 14 in the City of Joburg and Ward 20 in Mafikeng.

The ruling party has welcomed the results, saying that the people of Johannesburg are ready to reclaim the city.
