9 would-be robbers killed in shootout with KZN police

JOHANNESBURG - Nine people have been killed in a shootout with police in KwaZulu-Natal.
Authorities acted on a tip-off of a planned robbery in Durban on Monday.
When they approached two suspicious looking vehicles the occupants opened fire.
Six died on the scene, three others were shot and killed when police searched the third car.
The police’s Thulani Zwane says two suspects are recovering under police guard.
“It’s possible that there are more people might have been working with the suspects. Cases of attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition were opened against the suspects.”
