JOHANNESBURG - There is much excitement amongst local comic book fans as isiXhosa will be one of the official languages used in Marvel’s movie Black Panther.

The cast features a few South Africans led by veteran actor John Kani.
Black Panther premieres on 16 February at cinemas nationwide.
Kani says: "There are words used to indicate that those people’s indigenous language is not English. But you know this is an American major blockbuster, therefore it will be 99.9% English. However, you’ll hear some [isiXhosa] words being dropped."
