CAPE TOWN - Mitchelton-SCOTT rider Daryl Impey claimed the 2018 Tour Down Under crown on Sunday to become the first South African to win the title.

Impey, though, wasn't the only South African to claim honours as Team Dimension Data rider Nic Dlamini took the Subaru King of the Mountain title.

Sunday's final stage through the streets of Adelaide was won by Lotto Soudal's Andre Greipel, with Impey's teammate Caleb Ewan finishing in second and BORA-hansgrohe's Peter Sagan in third, with Impey finishing in 36th position, six places ahead of title rival Richie Porte (BMC).

Impey's victory sees him lead the UCI WorldTour points rankings ahead of Porte and Tom Jelte-Slagter (Team Dimension Data).
