JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) finally announced its national executive committee (NEC) on Thursday morning after counting was delayed.

Former treasuer-general Zweli Mkhize, who pulled out of the presidential race, got the highest number of votes.

Others in the top ten include Lindiwe Zulu, David Masondo, Ronald Lamola, Malusi Gigaba, Zizi Kodwa and Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

Staunch Cyril Ramaphosa supporters who also made the cut include Derek Hanekom, Angie Motshekga, Pravin Gordhan and Jackson Mthembu.

Those who backed Dlamini Zuma include Nomvula Mokonyane and Bathabile Dlamini, while those who didn't make it back in the NEC include SACP leader Blade Nzimande and former deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and Sports Minister Thulas Nxesi.

Some of the more controversial NEC members include Mduduzi Manana and former Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson.
