JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC)'s Zizi Kodwa says there might be a delay to the start of the conference due to the national executive committee (NEC) meeting.

Kodwa says the party wants to iron out all problems before formally starting the conference to avoid any interruptions.

“Even if there are delays, we want to make sure that when we start, we start without any challenges or any obstacles. Even if we start 30 minutes late, but when we start we must start full-swing.”

Kodwa says if any ANC members refuse to accept the outcome of certain crucial decisions the NEC is set to make about changes of the conference this morning, strict measures are in place to deal with ill-disciplined members.

“If we were to use this judgment to disrupt or to stall the conference, we’ll take you out without touching the ground.”

Kodwa also quashed reports of alleged buying of votes.
