JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks have arrested a woman for allegedly defrauding a medical equipment company to the tune of over R460 million.

The suspect was arrested at her home by the Germiston Hawks' Commercial Crime Unit office on Wednesday following a three-month long investigation.

It’s understood the 43-year-old, who was the accountant for the company, duplicated the payments by transferring money into her late husband's bank account.

The Hawks' Ndivhuwo Mulamu says officers seized 11 luxury vehicles, among other things.

“Yesterday the team descended at the suspects house in Boksburg with search and seizure warrants. And this is when members managed to attach 11 luxury vehicles, motorbikes, seven immovable properties with the furniture and appliances as well as jewellery.”
