The minister says the national government must work closely with their local counterparts.
“The work that we do must be supported and protected by your local economic development offices. We feel those offices should be the ears and eyes of the department to ensure the programmes we support are sustainable.”
But Zulu has identified problems her department needs to address.
“We must make sure the local economic offices, which in many instances are not fully supported with the right budget and sometimes don’t have the right people in the offices, change.”
