CAPE TOWN - A Riversdale resident has drowned in Still Bay on the Southern Coast.

It’s understood the 39-year-old man was on a church outing when the incident happened yesterday.

It's believed the man attempted to cross the Gouka River Mouth when he ran into difficulty.

NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon said, “Despite all efforts to resuscitate the man, he was declared dead. Police have opened an inquest docket.”
