JOHANNESBURG - More than 200 people will be appearing in various courts in Johannesburg on Monday for drunk driving.

This was the first weekend operation by metro police to increase visibility this festive season.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s Wayne Minaar says that motorists must not get behind the steering wheel after consuming more than one glass of alcohol.

“Many more drunk and driving operations will still be held on weekends. Yes, there will definitely be an increase of visibility leading up to Christmas because there will be many functions and parties.”
