CAPE TOWN - Mitchells Plain community is seething after a child was raped.

The seven-year-old Tafelsig girl was sexually assaulted by a man who’s known to her family last Friday.

The suspect's since been arrested.

But some residents have threatened to take the law into their hands if he’s granted bail.

“The community should be aware of these offenders so that we know how to protect our children around them.

“From April this year, it’s gone on and on and we’re sick and tired of it. Rather the police do something about it or we, the community, is going to end it.”

The suspect is expected in the dock on Monday.
