Gauteng ANC chooses Cyril Ramaphosa for ANC presidency

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress in Gauteng has chosen Cyril Ramaphosa for the post of ANC president.

The Gauteng ANC is hosting its Provincial General Council ahead of the national elective conference this month.

Ramaphosa received 374 branch nominations and his rival Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma only managed to receive 64 nominations

Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu received 182 nominations for the position of deputy president.

“For the position of president comrades, with 374 branches nominating him, that is comrade Cyril Ramaphosa is your preferred president.”
