Lesufi set to visit Diepsloot school over sexual assault claims
The latest developments come as the department investigates several other similar cases at schools in the province.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education MEC Panyza Lesufi is expected to visit a school in Diepsloot on Thursday morning following allegations of sexual assault there.
It's alleged a pensioner who lives not too far from the school has molested some pupils.
The latest developments come as the department investigates several other similar cases at schools in the province.
Last month, 80 school girls were sexually assaulted, allegedly by a guard at a Soweto primary.
The department’s Steve Mabona says: “We’re actually happy that the matter is currently now with the police who are doing necessary interviews, interacting with learners and all those who might be affected there.”
