Anti-nuclear deal campaigners want to meet Mahlobo
The Campaign for a Just Energy Future wants the government to stop any major nuclear deal.
CAPE TOWN - The Campaign for a Just Energy Future (CJEF) wants to meet with Energy Minister David Mahlobo to discuss the country’s power procurement plans.
The movement wants the government to stop any major nuclear deal.

Close to 300 protesters gathered at St Georges Cathedral.
Communities from the Karoo, the Eastern Cape and the Northern Cape came out in solidarity to stop any new nuclear deal.
They say they want to meet with the chairperson of the Energy Portfolio Committee to discuss their concerns.

CJEF’s Poovan Moodley said: “We’ve had a two-hour session with political parties, two of the parties turned up. So, we’re now heading to Parliament to ensure that other parties hear what we’re saying. But more importantly to get Parliament to open its doors.”
