Partner of lesbian woman murdered in Khayelitsha testifies
Noluvo Swelindawo was abducted, assaulted and murdered in December last year.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape High Court on Tuesday heard evidence from the partner of a lesbian murdered in what’s believed to be a hate crime.
Noluvo Swelindawo was abducted, assaulted and murdered in December last year in Khayelitsha.
Her bloodied body was found under a bridge the day after she was abducted.
Swelindawo was a gay woman and the State believes her murder was a hate crime.
The 22-year-old’s partner testified in court.
She claims the accused Sigcine Mdani assaulted her girlfriend at a party, a day before she was shot dead.
The State believes Mdani and a group of men broke into Swelindawo’s shack the following day and kidnapped her before shooting her dead and dumping her body under a bridge near the N2 highway.
