CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town traffic officer who assisted a woman with giving birth on the N2 highway last week says that she feels blessed to having been able to bring a healthy baby into the world.

Officer Amanda Fojo was busy issuing a fine to a taxi driver when she was alerted to a woman who was in labour and stuck in traffic on the highway.

Fojo then stepped in and assisted the mother with delivering her baby.

The heroic officer has now been rewarded for her efforts with a weekend stay at the Cullinan Hotel.

“It is very rewarding. With any traffic related matter it is rewarding to know you were there to help someone out of a difficult situation.”
