UCT students feel exam security measures like 'a prison'
UCT management has gone to desperate measures to ensure exams are written without any incidents.
CAPE TOWN - Some University of Cape Town (UCT) students feel like they're entering a prison when arriving for their exams.
UCT management has gone to desperate measures to ensure that exams are written without any incidents.
The university spent R24 million in recent months on beefing up security.
One student who spoke to Eyewitness News said: “I had to prepare myself emotionally to face what was happening on campus, almost feels like I’m entering a prison which is not exactly how you want to feel when you’re writing an exam.
“I was actually more worried about finding my seat in the exam with all these cops around versus actually writing the paper.”
