[LISTEN] New SAA CEO Vuyani Jarana ready for challenge

Vuyani Jarana, South African Airways' brand-new CEO, says that heading up the airline is a good challenge to tackle and he is honoured to have been called up for the post.

JOHANNESBURG - South African Airways' brand-new CEO Vuyani Jarana, who was born in Qunu in the Eastern Cape, in the area that former president Nelson Mandela was born in, says that his new job is massive but he is ready for it.

Jarana says he is aware of the strain that SAA is under and he is keeping an open mind in his approach to the state airline.

He was appointed as CEO in August but only began his job at the start of November.

Jarana says that in the next two months, his board will have done deep diagnostics of what needs to be done at SAA.
