Child rape suspect remains behind bars until bail application
The 36-year-old man allegedly raped the girl in his shack in Zone 3 just over a week ago.
CAPE TOWN - A case against a man accused of raping his neighbour’s five-year-old daughter has been postponed until later this month for a bail application.
The 36-year-old man allegedly raped the girl in his shack in Thembalethu Zone 3, in the Southern Cape, just over a week ago.
The police's Malcolm Poje explains: “Apparently the mother went to look for the child and when she couldn’t find her she consulted the neighbours, who live on the same premises in a shack. While the suspect was getting dressed, the little girl was still naked.”
The State will oppose bail.
The case resumes on 28 November.
