Officers came under attack on Sunday after towing an illegally parked car belonging to a member of the Hilldbrow church, with one cop disarmed assaulted and left unconscious.

A video doing the rounds on social media shows the officer drawing his firearm and firing warning shots into the air to stop the congregants from advancing towards him but the crowd proceeded to attack him.

But the church spokesperson says that the metro police were removing cars that were parked legally and this enraged the churchgoers.
