JOHANNESBURG - African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Gwede Mantashe says the December elective conference will go on as planned, dismissing rumours that the conference would collapse.

The party has convened a special NEC meeting at the St George’s Hotel in Irene to finalise the organisational report among other issues.

Mantashe has also made it clear that there will be no extensions to the deadline for nominations ahead of the conference.

“We’ve not decided to extend the time for branch general meetings (BGMs), people must do BGMs within the set time.”
