CAPE TOWN - Another child has fallen victim to violent crime.

A three-year-old girl was wounded in the face after she was hit by a stray bullet in Elsies River.

The gang shooting occurred on Thursday and no arrests have been made.

The community has seen a spike in gang violence over the past few months.

The local community policing forum's Imrahn Mukkadam says: “As the CPF and the community of Elsies River, we are saying this is totally unacceptable. Enough is enough. Our community was rocked by the death of Courtney Pieters a few months ago and again another three-year-old has become a victim to crime.”
