Firefighters continue effort to contain Gordon's Bay blaze
Firefighters will remain in Gordon's Bay throughout the night as they battle a wildfire that is being fanned by strong winds.
CAPE TOWN - Firefighters will remain in Gordon's Bay throughout the night as they battle a wildfire that is being fanned by strong winds.
About 200 firefighters are on scene trying to bring the blaze under control.
Four properties have been destroyed as a result.
At this stage, there is no further danger to houses in Gordon's Bay and no injuries have been reported.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services’ Theo Layne said: “Fire continues to burn, currently we have 200 firefighters with approximately 35 firefighting vehicles on the scene. No further property has been damaged.”
