Mitchells Plain girl (7) wounded, her parents killed in ambush

CAPE TOWN - A seven-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after she was wounded in a shooting in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town.

Her parents were killed.

The shooting took place in Beacon Valley on Wednesday night.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting, but it’s believed to be gang-related.

Police say the family was ambushed while driving along Imperial Street.

Shots were fired at the bakkie they were travelling in after 8 o’clock on Tuesday night.

It’s understood the young girl wounded in the attack was hit in her arm.

There have been no arrests.
