JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water says it’s expecting results from tests on samples of water from North Riding on Wednesday afternoon after a suspected sewer contamination in the area.

Residents have been urged not to drink tap water or use it to cook as officials investigate.

Joburg Water’s Isaac Dhludhlu has apologised for the inconvenience.

“We’re expecting the results latest on Wednesday afternoon then we’ll be able to advise accordingly if there’s any contamination. We also appeal for patience during this time as well.”
