Ramaphosa calls for end to farm killings, condemns flying of old SA flag
Ramaphosa spoke out against the ill-treatment and murder of farmworkers, as well as farmers. He also says the old flag is a symbol of apartheid, which was labelled a crime against humanity.
Answering questions in the National Council of Provinces, Ramaphosa spoke out against the ill-treatment and murder of farmworkers, as well as farmers.
But he singled out those who unfurled the old flag for making it clear they still hankered for the apartheid past.
Ramaphosa says all farm killings must stop. He’s condemned those who flew the old South African flag during Monday’s protests.
“I want to stand here and also condemn those who participated in that march where they flung out the old South African flag out, if they did anything, they actually just damaged their own case.”
Ramaphosa says the old flag is a symbol of apartheid, which was labelled a crime against humanity.
“I’m hoping that flag will never be flown ever in South Africa ever again, this must be the last time we’ve seen that flag being hoisted.”
