DURBAN - The father of slain Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa says that one of the people who was in the room on the day of the fatal shooting is being paid a bribe, but police are refusing to investigate.

Sam Meyiwa spoke to Eyewitness News outside his Umlazi home where a memorial service to remember his son was held at the weekend.

“I trust that one day God will help me and the truth will come out.”

Meyiwa claims the father of one of the men who shot the Bafana Bafana captain is bribing police and the others who were in the room on that fatal day.

“They are bribing the cops. There is a father who is paying cops, as his son was one of the six people in that room on that day.”

Meyiwa also says he’s heard his life may be under threat.

“I don’t care if they kill me. I know there’s talk that I’m their next target.”

Meyiwa says he won’t give up trying to find his son’s killers.
