JOHANNESBURG – African National Congress (ANC) NEC member Zizi Kodwa has now moved to clarify why he has written an open a letter to former ANC president OR Tambo.

In the letter, he says unity within the ANC needs a “figure head”, someone who would selflessly lead the movement and not seek self-enrichment.

Kodwa says Tambo understood that the ANC served the people and infighting over positions would not have been tolerated under his leadership.

“Under OR Tambo’s leadership, I don’t think the ANC would be where it is now.”
