CAPE TOWN - There has been yet another alleged child murder in the Western Cape with police confirming the body of a 10-year-old girl has been found in Manenberg.

Officers say the child's body was discovered in Primrose Park earlier on Friday.

The Edendale Primary School learner was last seen alive on Thursday morning when she left home to go to school.

Family members started a search following her disappearance and on Friday came across her body in Primrose Park.

Manenberg community leader Roegshanda Pascoe said: “The community is devastated by the horrific killings of our children. Already under heavy gang violence, this has added to the enormous impact of trauma being experienced by the community.”

According to reports, there have been more than 60 child killings in the province this year.
