CAPE TOWN - Police say a second person was also wounded in Wednesday morning’s shooting at Cape Town International Airport.

Notorious gang boss Jerome Booysen is said to have been the target of the shooting and is apparently in a serious condition.

Police are not confirming the identity of the man wounded this morning, but multiple reliable sources have confirmed that it is Booysen.

The source has told Eyewitness News that Booysen was hit in the chest and abdomen. It is understood that he is undergoing surgery.

This is the third time this year that Booysen has been targeted.

He was wounded in a shooting in May and escaped unscathed from a shooting in September.
