CAPE TOWN - The frozen body of a three-month-old baby has been discovered in a dustbin in Lwandle in Strand.

Western Cape Social Development says it’s supporting a police investigation.

Social workers are also on standby to assist.

The department's Sihle Ngobese said: “Most disturbingly the corpse was found concealed in black plastic bags and was frozen. We condemn this brutal incident in the strongest, strongest terms possible."

At the same time, a three-day-old baby was found in a field in Kwadwesi, in the Eastern Cape.
