JOHANNESBURG - Convicted rapist Sipho Ndlovu known as Brickz will find out his fate this morning.

He is appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court for sentencing.

Ndlovu was found guilty of raping his 16-year-old niece at his Ruimsig home in 2013.

The defence has appealed to the court to ignore the prescribed minimum sentence of 10 years but to rather consider giving a maximum of eight years.

They say Ndlovu is not a repeat offender or a threat to society, and he shows potential for rehabilitation.

They also say he should not be treated differently because of his celebrity status.

However, the prosecution has argued that it is because of his status that he should be made an example.

They say Ndlovu did not show remorse by pleading not guilty to the crime, adding he should be handed the 10-year minimum sentence.
