JOHANNESBURG - Media watchdog Media Monitoring Africa is disappointed that the nation has yet another Communications Minister.

Ayanda Dlodlo was replaced in Tuesday's reshuffle by former Energy Minister Mmamaloko Kubayi.

Director of Media Monitoring Africa William Bird says the move suggests President Jacob Zuma is acting out of desperation and in blatant self-interest.

“To have seven ministers of communications in seven years is simply a disaster in whatever parameter you look at it.

"Either the government doesn’t know what they’re doing, they are continuously appointing the wrong people or communications isn’t a priority.”
