CAPE TOWN - Heavy motor vehicles have been barred from using the Huguenot Tunnel outside Paarl as a result of an ongoing power failure on Sunday.

Traffic officials say only light motor vehicles will be allowed to pass through the tunnel until further notice.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says heavy motor vehicle drivers must make use of alternative routes.

“The situation remains unchanged, trucks still need to use alternative routes.”
