City Power working to restore power in Alexandra

JOHANNESBURG - City Power says it hopes to have power restored to Alexandra by Sunday morning following an unplanned power interruption.
The power utility says outages from Saturday night were as a result of an attempted cable theft that caused a cable fault.
City Power says its engineers have been working overnight to fix the cable and restore electricity.
Spokesperson Sol Masolo said: “We had an attempted cable theft at a Vasco da Gama substation and because of that we have lost power in 1st Avenue to 16th Avenue in Alexandra and the areas west of Florence Maphoso street.”
