City Power working to restore electricity in GP northern suburbs
Many residents are without electricity this evening in the northern parts of Johannesburg after the delta substation lost power due to lightning.
JOHANNESBURG – Johannesburg City Power says it has lost supply at its delta substation due to thunder and lightning.
Many residents are without electricity this evening in the northern parts of Johannesburg.
An Incomer tripped at Delta SS transformer 1, 2 and 3, Jhb North is affected. Techs are attending to it. No ETR.^HM

Spokesperson Sol Masolo says technicians are currently working to restore power to the affected areas.
“By tonight power to all the areas affected by the interruptions should be restored. Those are mainly areas in the northern suburbs.”
Power is 86% restored to Delta 1,2, & 3 incomers. Techs are still working on restoring power supply to all remaining areas.^HM
