Police hunt suspects in Beacon Valley shooting

CAPE TOWN - Police are still searching for suspects involved in a shooting that left five people wounded.

Three children, the youngest being 10, were among those who were hurt in Wednesday’s shooting.

The shooting, suspected to be gang-related, took place on Wednesday in Beacon Valley.

The victims had been standing at a shop in Cadillac Street when the shooting took place.

The police’s Frederick van Wyk said: “All the victims were treated at the scene by paramedics. Three were sent to a near hospital for further treatment. It’s believed the victims were standing at a spaza shop when unidentified suspects fired several shots towards them. An attempted murder case has been opened for further investigation.”
