Miner killed at Impala Platinum Rustenburg plant

JOHANNESBURG - Impala Platinum has confirmed one its miners has been killed in a rock fall at its Rustenburg mine.
It is understood that the man and his colleagues were installing roof support in the mine at the time.
Management says that it has informed the victim's next of kin and has sent condolences to his family.
Spokesperson Johan Theron says: “So it’s devastating for the whole management team and the workers obviously when an incident like this occurs. We have certainly sent our condolences to the entire family and are working with them and trying to support the family that is at the mine and to take them through the sad news.”
