Application in Mashaba, Da Gama no confidence motions struck off the roll

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC)'s application in the motion of no confidence against the Speaker and mayor of the City of Johannesburg has been struck off the roll for lack of urgency.
The ANC in Johannesburg approached the court asking for an urgent ruling to force Speaker Vasco da Gama and Mayor Harman Mashaba to schedule two motions of no confidence votes in himself and Mashaba.
The Democratic Alliance had argued that council rules don’t allow for a secret ballot.
