[UPDATE] 3 killed after truck drives over car near Clanwilliam

Western Cape traffic officials say three people have been killed after a truck drove over a car near Clanwilliam.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape traffic officials say three people have been killed after a truck drove over a car near Clanwilliam.

Three others were also injured in the crash.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says law enforcement officers are on the scene.

“At about 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon near Clanwilliam, we had a gruesome accident where a truck went over a light motor vehicle. The road is currently closed for traffic and all the injured people have been taken to nearby hospital.”

Meanwhile, earlier, officials said at least five people have been killed on the Western Cape roads this weekend.

Africa says: “It all started on Saturday night when two cars were involved in a head-on collision. One of the drivers lost his life.”
