Taxify investigates after customer accuses driver of sexual assault
The customer says she fell asleep during her Taxify trip to Braamfontein and when she woke up the driver was on top of her.
JOHANNESBURG - E-hailing service Taxify says it's investigating claims that one of its drivers tried to sexually assault a customer.
The customer made the accusation on social media earlier on Wednesday, saying she fell asleep during her Taxify trip to Braamfontein and when she woke up the driver was on top of her.
Taxify says the driver has denied the allegation and says he was only trying to wake the customer.
Spokesperson Marilin Noorem said: “According to him, she was sitting in the front and he tried to tap her and wake her up but she woke up and got very scared. The customer thought the driver had bad intentions, but according to the driver that was not the case.”
