Investigation into Eskom-IPP contracts delayed yet again
The National Energy Regulator is to probe Eskom following a complaint lodged by the Wind Energy Association in October.
CAPE TOWN - An investigation into why Eskom has been slow to sign contracts with independent power producers (IPP) has again been delayed.
The National Energy Regulator is to probe the utility following a complaint lodged by the Wind Energy Association in October.
Thirty-seven contracts are unsigned.
The association's Brenda Martin says they arrived at last week's hearing only to leave disappointed.
“We were anticipating that there would be a conclusion of the findings of the investigation. Eskom arrived and asked for a postponement of the hearing, saying they had internal communication challenges and hadn’t had time to prepare.”
