JOHANNESBURG - Sentencing proceedings for convicted rapist Sipho Ndlovu, known as Brickz, have been postponed yet again.

The kwaito star made a brief appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrates court on Thursday morning.

Brickz was found guilty in July of raping a 16-year-old girl at his home in November 2013.

He had spent a month in jail before being released on R50,000 bail.

His bail was revoked during his previous appearance last month.

Sentencing was postponed after the defence was not ready to proceed with closing arguments.

After Ndlou was found guilty in June, he changed his legal team which resulted in further delays in the trial.

The NPA's Phindi Mjonondwane says the State is ready to proceed.

"But unfortunately we could not prevent today's postponement. We understand that the new team needs to prepare thoroughly for the sentencing proceedings."

Proceedings will resume on 28 September, with both the State and the defence expected to give closing arguments before Ndlovu is sentenced.
