[ALERT] Bodies of 2 missing Kusasalethu miners recovered

JOHANNESBURG - The bodies of the last two missing mineworkers have now been recovered from Harmony Gold's Kusasalethu Mine in Carletonville.

The pair had been part of a group of five miners who became trapped on Friday morning following a seismic event.

Following a six-day search, rescuers have now called off their operation.

Harmony Gold has sent condolences to the families and friends of the five employees who lost their lives.

The mine’s Lauren Fourie said: "This concludes the rescue. Our sincere condolences go out to the families and friends of these miners and an investigation will follow."
