CAPE TOWN - Earlier this week, pupils at the Pretoria West High School boycotted classes and demanded to be allowed to wear skinny pants at school because they didn’t like the style of their school uniform.
School uniforms have been a major issue over the last couple of years and schools dress regulations have sparked issues around race, gender and constitutional freedom.
Do we still need school uniforms? Are they good and are they worth the issues around race and identity in the Constitution?
