Six people killed on Western Cape roads since start of weekend

The first fatality was recorded on Friday in the Karoo between Leeu Gamka and Beaufort West when a taxi driver lost control of the vehicle after two tyres burst.

CAPE TOWN – At least six people have been killed on Western Cape roads since the start of the weekend.

This is the latest report from provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa.

The first fatality was recorded on Friday in the Karoo between Leeu Gamka and Beaufort West when a taxi driver lost control of the vehicle after two tyres burst.

One passenger died.

Africa says two of the fatalities are pedestrians.

β€œIn the Metro, we have two pedestrians killed in motor vehicle accident, one on the N1 in Kraaifontein and then another on the N2.”
