DA launches petition calling for ‘early emergency election’
The DA says its failed Motion of No Confidence in President Zuma earlier this month showed most ANC MPs would do anything to protect a corrupt leader.
CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has launched a petition calling for an “early emergency election”.
The online petition went live on Sunday, with the party encouraging South Africans to support it.
The DA says its failed Motion of No Confidence in President Jacob Zuma earlier this month showed most African National Congress MPs would do anything to protect a corrupt leader.
The DA's Phumzile van Damme says the governing party has lost South Africa’s confidence.
“We encourage all South Africans to get behind this motion, which will mean that the public will be able to once again decide which party should lead this country.”
