[WATCH] Coffin assault judgment

Two men are on trial for attempted murder and kidnapping after they forced Rethabile Mlotshwa into a coffin and allegedly threatened to set it alight.

MIDDELBURG - Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen have

in the so-called coffin assault case.

Judgment is being delivered by Judge Shela Mphahlele in the High Court sitting in Middelburg against Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen.

The duo are accused of attempted murder and kidnapping after they forced Rethabile Mlotshwa into a coffin and allegedly threatened to set it alight.

WATCH: Judgment being handed down

The two accused have argued that they have never intended to kill Mlotshwa and were merely threatening him.

However, the prosecution argued their actions were fuelled by racism.

Oosthuizen and Jackson pleaded not guilty to all charges.
